Sportsmen and fans don’t have full control on their private data. Players often wear tracking gears. This might be the part of their training routing. Athlete health condition and performance is measured this way, and the material collected is used for several things.

Fans on the other hand book tickets and enter baking details which might get recorded, they even agree with terms and cognition, not knowing what they are engaging with. This lacks transparency and further creates trust issues.

If supporters and players have control over this, a sense of security will be created and only those insights will be collected that are important.

There are several ways in which athletic data security can be increased. This includes:

  • Dependable Cybersecurity System: Invest in robust system and install firewalls, two-step verification, encryption, etc., to safeguard all the content and protect it from data thefts.
  • Minimize Data Collection: Only collect essential metrics and avoid collecting those that are not needed.
  • Regular Audit: Organize security audits occasionally to see if there’s been any suspicious activity or if your system is lacking anywhere.
  • Establish Privacy Policies: Limited people should have access to data and rules should be created regarding it. Like stating purpose of using it, collecting it and what method is being used.
  • Training: Train the whole staff, including officials and players, on what things they need to avoid doing. Human error is a major cause for privacy breaching, so being educated on the subject is important.
  • Integration of AI: Sports innovation is helping integrate AI technologies which can easily detect any that and warn immediately. It is quite beneficial and a great investment.
